For years I earned my living as a producer of current affairs programming for television, including Daily Politics, Sunday Politics, Newsnight, and The Big Debate on the BBC, as well as the Peston chat show on ITV. At the latter's longform department, I worked on numerous documentaries including the Rose d'Or-winning Storming the Capitol: The Inside Story, its sequel After the Storm: America's Enemy WithinThe ISIS 'Beatles', Ukraine: A Year of War as well as Ramadan: A Journey Across Britain, a film which I co-directed.

Before slinking away behind the camera, I even had some experience as a broadcaster, having been London politics reporter for the BBC's Sunday Politics programme, covering the mayoralty and local authorities for two years in an on-camera role, as well as reporting for the BBC's Asian Network and for NBC's Euronews from Brussels.

This was never something I was interested in doing; I fell into it, without ever fitting in. Making television without ever owning or watching one certainly didn't help. After producing Britain Decides, Channel 4's supposedly acclaimed election night broadcast for the 2024 UK general election, I decided that more than a decade of manufacturing consent was enough. I am now retired from the important business of making the world a stupider place, one TX at a time.
